1949 1950 1951 Mercury Steering Linkage Upgrade Kit GEN 2
Generation 2 Design Available as of March 10, 2026
Greatly Improves Handling & Overall Steering Feel
Mercury's Original Design had the Inner tie rods spread
too far apart causing bump steer and a flimsy Idler arm design.
They attempted to correct this design in 1952 But we have taken
it into the future.
Our kit brings the inner tie rods closer together in the middle and face down.
The inner tie rod sockets are perfectly inline with the lower control arm shafts
and follow the length of the lower control arm perfectly.
This allows them to freely move up and down without tugging on the draglink.
You know that feeling of hitting a bump and the car wants to change lanes!
This kit corrects that dangerous flaw!
Our kit features a modern Idler arm and bracket that will not flex and wear out prematurely.
The new draglink features an adjustable tie rod end allowing the steering box to be set
at true dead center and the idler arm to be positioned perfectly straight.
Works Great to increase oil pan clearance on small block Chevy.
Works Great With Our Dropped Uprights
Will NOT Clear Stock Exhaust Crossover Pipe
**Flathead V8 Mercury's MUST Have Dual Exhaust**
